Compared to DD37, DD38 was so much better! My driving seemed to improve and I felt as though I had a decent handle on the car. The only downside was that the torsen lsd felt very inconsistent. Occasionally, it wouldn't lock hard on left turns (felt like an open diff) resulting in me bangin' on the rev limiter.
I wasn't spinning out nearly as often as last time. For my second drift day, I was pretty proud of how I drove and super glad nothing has been too unreliable on the sc, knock on wood. Hopefully I can make it to DD39 but it'll be tough to commute from ISU. But all in all it was a great time and i'm stoked for next season. Here is an in car vid I took from the intermediate track and a couple photos taken by a photographer at the event:

Drift Day 37
On July 17, I traveled up to Shawano Wisconsin to participate in my first ever event, Clubfr's Drift Day 37. It was my first time ever driving in an event, so naturally I drove like it was my first event, poorly. I hit just about every hay bail on the intermediate track trying to get a feel for the car. I burnt threw the 16 stockies' tires and by the end of the day I was starting to get a feel for the car.
I don't have any coverage or videos from the event but I do have a couple pics taken by another driver. I do not own these pics nor claim to :)
The Car
The machine of choice is a 1997 Lexus Sc300 I bought back in 2007-08. I have always wanted a toyota soarer but since thats a bit out of reach here in America, a sc300 would have to do. The car was a bone stock automatic with 58,000 miles.
I decided to focus on weight and fully gut the car. I figured there was no sense in adding a ton of power (Na-t) when I wouldn't know how to effectively use it. I figured subtracting the weight was my best option because it would enhance handling & braking as well as slightly enhancing better straight line performance. and its free :)
Currently, this is how she sits:

Square One's Introduction
Viewer,
Thank you for viewing Square One. I have been following the drift scene for a while and just this past weekend I participated in my second drift event (Clubfr's Drift Day 38). My intentions for Square One is to provide coverage of the drift events I attend, as well as the progress of my driving and car as I mod, crash, etc. I hope my delivery doesn't come off cocky or arrogant in anyway. I have always wanted to post and as a beginner starting from Square One, i thought the name would be appropriate for a blog. I simply want to show people what I am trying and hope that the viewer will possibly learn or enjoy by watching/ reading what I have to post. Please feel free to post positive and/ or negative feedback because I would like to learn from what others have to say as well,
Thanks,
Square One
